The body mass index (BMI) measures your height/weight ratio, it is your weight in kilograms divided by your height in meters squared (Kg/m2)

The higher your BMI, the higher your likelihood of developing diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure (hypertension), coronary heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some forms of cancer.

If Your BMI is:
Below 20, this can mean that you have a low amount of body fat. If you are an athlete, this can be desirable. If you are not an athlete, this can indicate that your weight is too low, which may lower your immunity.

Between 20 and 25, indicates an ideal or acceptable level of body fat.

Between 25 and 30, then you are overweight for your height and exposed to health problems. We recommend you start adopting a healthier lifestyle.

More than 30 then are you considered obese. Obesity is associated with increased health risks and life-threatening diseases.
